To grow old together
I work at a Chinese take-out restaurant. Today, an old couple came in to order. Their bones wobbled and their ears could barely hear me speak. The whole time I was taking their order, i couldn’t help but think how wonderful it must be to be them. They are two people who took “till death due us part” seriously. They stuck with each other through all the battles of life, and were able to survive together. As they crippled out hand in hand I couldn’t help but envy them. They are so lucky to have each other; to have someone to grow old with. The life they live is beautiful-extraordinary really. One day i hope to be them- to be immobile and senseless with someone right by my side going through the exact same thing. That way, I can die knowing I am not alone.
